About Edita Lorinczova

Psychotherapist at the intersection of  mind, body and meaning

I’m Edita Lorinczova, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a background in medicine and clinical research. Before becoming a psychotherapist, I earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in Hungary and worked in pharmaceutical research specializing in women’s health.

My practice is rooted in relational and psychodynamic psychotherapy, guided by the understanding that symptoms are not disruptions to be eliminated but meaningful expressions of an inner life seeking recognition.

What You’re Carrying — And How We Work Through It

A space for the parts of you that have been carrying things alone

Many people come to therapy with the sense that something inside has grown too heavy to carry alone — a quiet ache, persistent inner tension, or the feeling of living without enough support for what remains unresolved. Often, there is no single event to point to, only the sense that something has been held for too long.

These burdens are not random; they may arise from:

  • early relational wounds

  • internalized expectations and self-criticism

  • survival strategies that once protected

  • unwitnessed emotions

  • unaccompanied loss or transition

  • repeating relational patterns

In therapy, we work at the pace of your psyche — allowing long-held patterns to soften through relational safety, reflective depth, and mindful awareness, creating space for greater clarity and emotional freedom

My Approach

How We Work Together

A steady, supportive, and confidential process

1. Initial Consultation

Beginning the conversation
There is no right way to begin — we can start wherever you are

A brief 20-minute consultation to understand what brings you here, how I work, and to sense whether this space feels right. Not an assessment, but an opportunity to meet, ask questions, and begin orienting toward the work we may undertake together.

2. Regular Sessions

In weekly sessions, we follow your internal experience — thoughts, emotions, physical sensations

The therapeutic relationship becomes part of the work, offering insight into how you relate in the world. Through consistency, insight deepens into lived experience. Over time, sustained contact with your emotional life — in the presence of another — supports new ways of relating.

3. Completion and Beyond

When therapy feels complete, many clients choose to transition from weekly sessions to periodic check-ins

Supportive conversations offered at a pace that reflects the stability and clarity they’ve developed. This is not ongoing weekly therapy, but a way to stay rooted in your growth while navigating life with more autonomy, depth, and intention.
